Hello! I’m Dan Raphael and I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 10 years of experience working with children and families. I specialize in providing counseling services with children, teens, and adults on the Autism Spectrum as well as a variety of other challenges including ADHD, ODD, anxiety, and depression. I have many years of experience providing parent training and support to families. I work with LGBTQIA and have extensive training with multicultural competency. I have worked in a variety of settings including: Outpatient therapy centers, College counseling centers, in–home and mobile therapy services.
My therapeutic approach is focused on developing a relationship based on trust, identifying and utilizing strengths, and using cognitive behavioral therapy to help create an individualized road map for change and growth. I work with people to assist them in identifying their needs and utilizing their strengths. I provide psycho-education to help people better understand diagnoses, behaviors and emotions. Building interpersonal relationships by teaching communication and empathy skills is an important part of the counseling process. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my partner, playing video games, watching movies, drawing, and spending time with my friends.
