Hi! I’m April. I’m an LCSW with 15+ years of experience.
Starting your therapy journey when you are not feeling yourself can be a difficult decision to make. You may wonder if it will be a good fit–or will the clinician understand me? My goal is to meet you where you are at with unconditional support, and to partner with you to openly explore life’s journey in a safe place. My hope is that you will find a sense of peace and the ability to find the positive energy in life.
I currently hold level-1 Gottman training in couples counseling and have recently completed a Certification in Integrative Health & Wellness through the University of Maryland Baltimore College (UMBC). I’m currently working to complete a 2nd Masters Degree in Health Science. I specialize in helping children, teens, and adults with a variety of challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, and family relationships.
Through my training and experience, I have enjoyed assisting clients in building self-esteem and a sense of confidence while maintaining healthy boundaries in life/relationships. I use positive affirmations to help increase confidence in making your own choices and your ability to reflect or learn from them. I look forward to assisting you along the journey of life and providing a safe place to explore your experiences.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband and our pets, going for runs and continually pursuing knowledge and education.
