Hi, I’m Carrie! I am a licensed professional counselor with a heart to serve individuals going through difficult times in their life. I work with children, teens, adults, and families to help them see their personal strengths to reach their full potential. I view each individual as a unique person with a special purpose in life, and I encourage them to incorporate their spiritual values into their healing process. I work with individuals with depression, anxiety, oppositional defiant disorder, post-traumatic stress, and adjustment disorders. I encourage and support individuals and families facing grief and loss, separation and divorce, abuse, and other stressful or traumatic events.
My experience includes working with children struggling with behavior and emotional problems. I incorporate play therapy into the therapeutic process with children to help them develop emotional regulation, self-control, problem solving, and thinking skills. I encourage parents to be involved in the therapy process, and I help them develop positive parenting strategies to use at home. My theoretical approach is primarily cognitive-behavioral therapy, and I also use solution-focused, narrative, and mindfulness theories.

For parents who are hoping to bring their children to counseling, these tips may help prepare your child.
I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling to National Parks or beautiful beaches. My family and I are involved in the community, local church, and a variety of service opportunities. I am always reading a new book on parenting, marriage, children, or Christian growth.
